The UWSA / UWCA Conferences were held February 20 and 21 in Layton, Utah, at the new Davis Conference Center. The two day conference was a rousing success with excellent speakers talking on a wide array of subjects including: Phragmites control, Utah Strategic Plan for Managing Noxious and Invasive Weeds, Early Detection and Rapid Response, and the new CWMA Video produced by the Weed Supervisor Association.

OUTSTANDING COUNTY WEED SUPERVISOR (Wilbur-Ellis) was given to Bill Gilson of Box Elder County

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARNESS AWARD (IFA) was given to Matt Meccariello, Range specialist for the Manti-LaSal National Forest

OUTSTANDING WEED WORKER (Steve Regan) was given to Stephen Smith, Wasatch CWMA Chairman

OUTSTANDING WEED BOARD (UAP) was given to Sanpete County

BIOLOGICAL AWARD was given to Amber Richman, APHIS
