About the UWCA
The Utah Weed Control Association, or UWCA, has been around since about 1986. It was formed in order to bring weed control issues into a greater light and to provide a forum to address ways to improve weed control in the state. The UWCA is comprised of Utah's best weed control professionals striving to implement the best weed management practices available with today's technology.

Conferences
An annual Conference is held each year. In the past they have been held in Ogden, Salt Lake City, Provo, Nephi, Cedar City, Moab, and St. George. The 2010 conference was held in Price, Utah February 17-18, 2010.
Congratulations to Chad Dewey, of EcoLife, who was elected Vice President Elect for 2010.
Noxious Weeds
Utah recently added 9 new weeds to the State Noxious Weed List and now has a total of 27 weeds listed on the noxious weed list. Each county may list additional weeds that negatively impact their specific areas. To see photos and descriptions of these weeds click here.
CWMA's
Cooperative Weed Management Areas or CWMA's bring people and agencies together combining resources to battle weeds. Learn more about CWMA's here.

Grant Information
Each year the Utah Weed Control Association obtains information about various grants that may be available to CWMA's and county weed departments. When grants become available you can find application information here.
Weed Alert
The UWCA has set up this webpage to serve as an Early Detection, Rapid Response resource to assist weed departments in keeping track of new and invading weeds through the Weed Alert.
