Silverleaf nightshade is a one to three foot tall perennial. Stems and leaves are covered with fine hairs giving the plant a silvery appearance. Stems also have small yellow thorns. Leaves are one to five inches long and have smooth to wavy margins.
Flower

Light blue to violet flowers have five petals, yellow anthers, and are about one inch wide.

Silverleaf nightshade is native to the central United States. It inhabits waste areas, pastures, and rangelands. Reproduction is by roots and seeds. The foliage and berries are toxic to livestock.
Fruits

The flowers produce an orange-yellow berry filled with seed.
